Hair Guide

Virgin Hair:
Virgin hair is not processed or treated with any kind of chemicals. It is 100% natural, so there is no damage to the cuticles which protect the hair for the elements. The hair is in its natural state with its cuticles in tact and running in the same direction. Virgin hair extensions are naturally soft and have a beautiful healthy, vibrant look. This enables you to experiment with bleaching, dyeing and styling the hair just as you would your own.

Remy (Virgin) Hair:
Remy hair differs from Virgin hair mainly because it has been chemically processed to achieve a desired colour or texture, but the cuticle still remains in tact so the hair will not tangle. The cuticles are not stripped and remain aligned in the same direction. Most human hair sold in the hair extensions market undergoes a cuticle-stripping process called an acid-bath. Then, a silicone is placed to give the hair a shine and smooth appearance. This silicone wears off when the hair is washed, therefore, the cuticles are disturbed and return back to its natural state, causing the hair to mat and tangle easily. Remy hair is popular as it does not mat or tangle because all the cuticles are aligned and intact without the use of silicone or any processing. Our Remy hair is Grade AAA which is the highest grade of hair. The end result is soft, beautiful, long lasting hair with lots of body.

TYPES OF VIRGIN HAIR:

Indian:
The hairs density is very fine. It’s naturally airy, light and bouncy and can easily be curled and styled. It blends well with most hair textures but can be difficult to work with if you have natural type 4 kinky hair. This hair texture can be found ranging from silky to lightly coarse. Indian hair is thicker than fine-stranded European hair, but thinner than Chinese hair, which is what makes it so popular for extensions as it can blend in with your natural hair more easily. This hair will swell and become frizzy in humid weather and in foggy conditions. Anti-frizz products are highly suggested.

Brazilian:
Brazilian hair is used diversely because of its softness, durability and density (thickness). This texture is easiest to blend with most ethnicities from some Caucasian textures to African American relaxed or straightened textures. Brazilian hair is extremely luxurious and very soft with a lot of body and natural shine. Its lustre is low to medium.

Because of the density of Brazilian hair, you may not want to use as many bundles as you would normally use with other textures to create a full look. Due to its natural density, with this hair, less is more. Also because of its density, it is less likely to frizz than other hair types like Malaysian or Indian Hair. Brazilian hair will also hold curls longer than Indian or Malaysian textures. This hair is extremely versatile. It’s amazing!

Peruvian:
Peruvian Hair is the ultimate multi-purpose hair! It’s extremely soft and ultimately feather light! You can have up to five bundles of a Peruvian hair installed yet still maintain a feathery light, maintainable style. This hair is coarser in texture than Indian or Brazilian hair and its lustre is low to medium. It blends very well with African-American relaxed hair textures and medium Caucasian hair textures. This hair is Luxurious and another one of our favourites.

Malaysian:
Malaysian Hair is a highly sought after texture and a very popular option among celebrities. Malaysian hair has an extremely luxurious feel and is sleek and shiny, but not excessively shiny. Its lustre is low to medium-similar to Brazilian hair. This hair hold curls extremely well without the use of products. It is generally very dark brown; close to black with some bundles may having lighter ends. This hair blends very well with most hair types including African American. It does not swell or frizz in humid conditions making it low maintenance. This hair is amazing-you will love it!

No two bundles of Virgin hair are alike. Since the hair is Virgin, each bundle will have a different texture, pattern and hair colour than what you may have seen in photos or elsewhere. We will strive to send you hair that matches as closely as possible.

To keep you hair in tip- top shape, use a deep conditioner or hot oil treatment in your hair twice a month. More or less, depending on the hair’s need. This is very important if you have coloured the hair or use hair straighteners.

Styling
Always keep your hair extensions tangle free. Our hair extensions can be styled as you would your own hair. You can blow dry, curl, straighten, dye, and style it as you would your own hair. However high temperatures can damage the hair and permanently alter the hair texture. Put your hair “up” at night. Plait, pin, bun or roll your hair before going to sleep. What ever works for you. This is important in preventing tangles.
